The installation engages with and allows to listen to the historical recordings produced in a police station in Keetmanshoop and on a farm near Windhoek in 1931, in the context of the racial research of the German adventurer Hans Lichtenecker from Gotha. The speakers address their current situation and the colonial history of their country. Hans Lichtenecker could not understand what they said.
The installation is based on the ongoing research of Anette Hoffmann and additional research by Regina Sarreiter in 2011.
